Drywall finishing Today

Party in the attic! Come on up, bring your own sawz-all!
But seriously I'm getting way to used to being up there. I'm just cutting more of the paster ceiling away so I can put one big patch up instead of 5 little ones. Preparing for dry wall.

The drywallers came today! You can't see what all they did in the photo but they put 9 8 foot sticks of metal corner bead, paper covered on the walls and the beam. Added about 4 sheets of dry wall and 3 bags of 40 min hot mud to even things out in this old house. The ceiling will be skim coated along with some walls tomorrow. We are going for a smooth look and the old knock down texture is going to be hidden. I will borrow a texture gun later to spray on a orange peel.

Yurt collapse

I've been putting this post off for a while but here it is. We were told of the collapse by our neighbors who snow shoed into their properties.

Nuff said... Too much snow and we weren't prepared! I've heard there was 3 feet up near Hoodsport and Lake Cushman, probably more at 1650 feet elevation where our yurt is. It then warmed up fast and poured rain on the snow and boom!

This happened in January 2009.

Moving dishwasher wires and disposal switch

We moved our fridge so it covered the old switch for the garbage disposal. Just when I thought I was done wiring I had to move the switch. I also had to run the wires for the dishwasher and the disposal INside the wall instead of behind the cabinets like it used to be. Anyway these are terrible photos not even showing the switch. I will post more and a kitchen update sooner than later. - Joseph
